SPRAGUE'S BROTHER DIES IN N. Y. WILLIAM C. SPRAGUE, NOTED AS WRITER AND PUBLISHER, PASSES AWAY. ----------------- A telegram has been received by Mr. Charles B. SPRAGUE of Goldfield, announcing the death of his brother, William C. SPRAGUE in New York. Mr. SPRAGUE was one of the best known figures in American literature and law. He was founder of that sterling publication for boys, whose circulation is nationwide, The American Boy, which is published by the Sprague Publishing Co. He is better known, however, as a writer and publisher of law books and law journals, and also as founder and for nearly its entire existence, secretary of the Law League of America, an association of commerical lawyers. At the time of his death, he was in New York at the head of a new publication known as the Lawyer and Layman. Because of the great distance and time consumed in the journey, Mr. Charles S. SPRAGUE did not attempt to attend the funeral, which will be held in New York December 2. Mr. W. C. SPRAGUE leaves a daughter only, his son Lieutenant W. G. SPRAGUE, having been killed in France. The latter was an air plane pilot during the war and was killed in a notable exploit in which he sank a submarine, but at the sacrifice of his own life. His funeral was observed with great ceremony in France, eulogies being delivered by various French notables. In the death of his brother, Mr. Charles S. SPRAGUE is bereft of every relative bearing the family name. He has a cousin, Mr. G. W. MULKS, one of the comptrollers of the Southern Pacific railroad, with offices in New York, who was with the deceased at the time of his death.
