A. WALKER, FORMER VEGAS OFFICER, DIES Conrad A. WALKER, 56, former Las Vegas police officer and one-time detective on the police force in Duluth, Minnesota, died early this morning at his home, 1500 South Main street. WALKER started his career as a police officer in 1920 with the Duluth police department. He retired in 1942, leaving Duluth with an excellent record and was at one time an instructor in police procedure, files of the Las Vegas police department show. In January of 1946 he came to work on the Las Vegas force as a detective and proved to be a very capable officer, Inspector Charles F. MORRISON disclosed. WALKER resigned from the Las Vegas department to accept a more lucrative position with the Utah Construction company in July of 1946 as a special investigator at Davis dam, MORRISON said. Prior to his death WALKER was working as a special officer at the Golden Nugget. Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of relatives from Californa. The body is now at the Bunker-Burt mortuary.
