THE TOLL OF DEATH



HOOKE - In this city, Monday, November 11, 1918, Clyde Kemper HOOKE, aged

31, of influenza pneumonia.

    Las Vegas Aerie No. 1213, Fraternal Order of Eagles, escorted the

remains to the depot Thursday evening for shipment to Los Angeles, where

Aerie No. 102 took charge of the funeral arrangements.

    Besides his widow, the deceased leaves surviving him his father, who

resides at Pomona, Cal.

    Clyde HOOKE has been a resident of Las Vegas for the past three years

and was esteemed by all for his fine qualities of mind and heart.  He was

employed by the Los Angeles & Salt Lake road and was a member of the B of

L.F., as well as of Las Vegas Aerie 1213, F.O.E.  His death brings grief

to every heart and we express to the sorrowing ones the deep sympathy of the

entire community.
