While at his work in Barstow, his clothing was caught in the flywheel of a gasoline engine and he was whirled into an almost unrecognizable mass of human flesh. He was immediately taken to Los Angeles but failed to rally from the shock. Mr. ROTH lived in the Yellow Pine district for a number of years, his last venture there being to cyanide the tailings of the old Keysone mill, from which he made considerable money.
