He was 84. Born in Salt Lake City on Jan. 23, 1908, BARTLETT came to Las Vegas in 1930 and became a partner in the Bartlett Brothers Hardware Co., which operated on Fremont Street downtown from 1939 until the mid-1950s. The company also opened a store in Reno. He later became a building standards complaints investigator for the Nevada State Contractors Board, and was chief investigator when he retired in 1973. He also was employed by the Von Tobel Lumber Co. and Vegas Village stores. During his years as a merchant, he was a member of the Las Vegas Rotary Club and president of the Federated Employers of Southern Nevada.
