LILLIS on Sunday received a message announcing the death of his brother in San Francisco, and left at once to attend the funeral. We clip the following from the San Francisco Chronicle: "Simon Clare LILLIS, wealthy banker and stock raiser, who had lived in California for thirty-eight years, died at his home, 2170 Vallejo street, last Sunday. Had he lived until yesterday he would have celebrated his seventy-fifth birthday. "Funeral services will be held from the LILLIS residence this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. "LILLIS was one of the three largest landowners in the State, most of his holdings being in Fresno county, and he also dealt largely in cattle. He was born in Ireland, coming to the United States when a boy, and during the Civil War he commanded a company. "He was president of the First National Bank of Oroville; the First National Bank of Hanford, and the Bank of Lemoore. "LILLIS made San Francisco his home for twenty-five years."
