The injured man was brought with all possible haste to the Las Vegas Hospital, where it was found that both legs were nearly severed at the knees and that he had sustained other serious injuries. In an attempt to save his life the legs were amputated just above the knees, but the injured man died from shock soon after coming from under the influence of the anasthetic. It is reported that MILLER, who is on the list of drafted men, came to Las Vegas expecting to remain here until called to the service. He had money, but was trimmed in a poker game in a saloon here by the local gamblers and was probably beating his way back to Goodsprings on a freight when he fell beneath the wheels.
