FORMER VEGAS RESIDENT DIES IN CALIFORNIA



F. W. EGLINGTON, former resident of Las Vegas and owner of the Eglington 

ranch northwest of this city, died in Burbank, California, Monday, August 

13, 1923.

    Death came as the result of paralysis, Mr. EGLINGTON having suffered a 

stroke some time ago from which he never recovered.

    Frederick William EGLINGTON was born in Bristol, Illinois, March 12, 

1860 and passed away at 2:10 a.m. on August 13, 1923 at the age of 63 years, 

five months and one day.

    The funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 14, by Rev. Wm. H. 

ROGERS, former paster of the First M. E. Church in this city, and an old 

friend of the family.  Rev. ROGERS was assisted by the Rev. L. G. PARKER, 

pastor of the Christian Church at Burbank.  Mr. EGLINGTON had been a devout 

Christian during his lifetime and for the past 26 years was a member of the 

Christian Church.  Interment was in the Burbank cemetery.

    In addition to his widow, Mrs. Lorena C. EGLINGTON, the deceased leaves 

surviving him two daughters, Mrs. Dora E. LEE of this city and Mrs. Chas. G. 

STINDT of Pioche.

    The EGLINGTONS were residents of Vegas for several years during which 

time Mr. EGLINGTON was engaged in the development of the fine ranch property 

which he owned northwest of this city.  The family moved to Burbank where 

they have since resided about three years ago.

    Mr. EGLINGTON was a lovable character and his many friends in this city 

will learn of his death with sincere regret.  The sympathy of the entire 

community goes out to the bereaved family.
