WELL LOVED WOMAN DIES IN SALT LAKE



    The many Las Vegas friends of the ENKING family were saddened last 

Monday when the news was flashed over the wires that Mrs. Katherine J. 

ENKING, wife of O. L. ENKING had passed away at her home in Salt Lake.  The 

family were residents of Las Vegas for several years and Mrs. ENKING was 

prominent in social, church and club affairs.  She was one of the charter 

members of the Mesquite club and her memory is enshrined in the hearts of 

her fellow clubwomen.

    The family have resided in Salt Lake for the past ten years where Mrs. 

ENKING has been actively identified with the literary and club circles of 

that city.  She was past president of the Wasatch Literary club, past 

treasurer of the Utah Federation of Women's Clubs, a position which she held 

for four years.

    At the time of her death she was chairman of the parliamentary laws 

committee of the Ladies Literary club, secretary of the Catholic Woman's 

League and auditor of the Utah State Federation of Women's Clubs.

    Mrs. ENKING is survived by her husband and three children, Katherine, 

Clement and Frances, who are  attending the state university and little five 

year old Bonnie Katherine.

    Funeral services were held Thursday morning from the church of Our Lady 

of Lourdes, the Rev. Father R. J. COTTER officiating.  Interment was made in 

Calvary cemetery.

    The sympathy of this community, where she was so highly esteemed, is 

extended to the bereaved family.
