M. E. WARD's FATHER KILLED IN ACCIDENT



    M. E. WARD, manager of the Mesquite Grocery, received a message Friday 

evening of last week containing the sad news that his father had been killed 

in an accident at Morenci, Michigan, that day.  The details of the accident 

received later stated that he had been operating a railroad gas car and was 

struck by a five-ton automobile truck, being killed instantly.

    The elder WARD was known to quite a number of people in this city, 

having visited Las Vegas about three years ago.  He is survived by his wife, 

one daughter and two sons.

    Mr. WARD left late Friday evening for Michigan.
