KILLED IN AUTO SMASH



    Mark E. SOMERS, son of Judge Peter J. SOMERS, former district judge at

Goldfield, was killed when the auto in which he was returning with a party

from a beach resort last Sunday night ran into a street car standing at the

end of the West Adams street line in Los Angeles.  Miss Louise HEFFNER, Miss

Della RENIE and an unidentified woman also are dead as a result of the

accident and Morrell BRUNNER is so badly injured that he may die.

    Mark E. SOMERS was the eldest of four sons of Judge Peter J. SOMERS and

lived for a number of years at Goldfield.  The many friends of the SOMERS

family in this section much regret to hear of the death of the young man.
