DIED



AVERETT:  At his home in Logan, Nevada, Saturday, May 5, 1917, at 4:30 p.m.,

John AVERETT, Sr., aged 63 years, 1 month and 27 days, beloved husband of

Mrs. Mary Jane AVERETT, and father of Mrs. Sarah SCHWALL of Los Angeles,

Cal., Mrs. STEVENS of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Susie WALLACE of Hackberry,

Arizona, John AVERETT, Jr. and Mrs. Zella WALCH of Goodsprings, Nev.,

Clinton AVERETT of Logan, Nevada.

    The deceased settled on the family homestead near Logan in 1892 and has

for the past 25 years been one of the best known and most progressive

citizens of the Moapa Valley.  He was born in Salt Lake City in 1854.  Prior

to moving to Nevada he was in the cattle business in Utah for a number of

years.  He was universally respected by all who knew him and made many

staunch friends who sincerely mourn his loss.  The funeral services were

held Sunday at Overton, Bishops J. I.EARL, M. D. COOPER and Mark JORGENSEN

officiating.  The funeral was very largely attended, all wishing to pay a

last tribute of respect to the deceased.
