MASONS CONDUCT GOODIN FUNERAL

Vegas Lodge No. 33 of Masons conducted the last rites Thursday afternoon for 
Otis C. Goodin, who died suddenly Monday last.

Past Master K. O. Knudson read the beautiful and impressive Masonic services.  
He was assisted by Past Master W. B. Mundy and other officers of the lodge.  
The funeral, held in Masonic temple, was attended by a large number of Masons 
and Elks, in both of which fraternities Mr. Goodin had long been prominent.  A 
long line of automobiles followed the cortege to Woodlawn cemetery, where 
interment was had.  Palm Funeral home made funeral arrangements.

Deceased was ill with influenza about one week before his death, bu twas 
supposed to be on the road to recovery.  However, he was taken with a heart 
attack while in his room Sunday afternoon and died shortly thereafter.

Otis Goodin, long an employe of the Union Pacific railroad, was for the past 
several years a caretaker at the Federal building.  He was kindly and 
considerate of all with whom he came in contact and was a favorite in the Elks 
and Masonic lodges in both of which he has long taken an active part.  He will 
be sadly missed by his many intimate friends.

Deceased came to Las Vegas 27 years ago as a machinist in the railroad shops.  
He was born in New York September 4, 1890 and leaves surviving his widow, and 
one daughter, who resides at Fort Peck, Mont.
