GOSSE, Jr., son of Capt. H. J. GROSSE, proprietor of the Riverside hotel at Reno, died last Friday in the government hospital in Honolulu. Young GOSSE, with twelve other boys from Reno high school, enlisted in the army on March 19. He joined the heavy artillery corps and after training at Angel Island for two months was sent to Honolulu. He became ill on the transport and was placed in the government hospital on arriving at the Islands. Mrs. GOSSE went immediaely to Honolulu to minister at the bedside of her son upon receiving word of his illness. Her messages were at first encouraging but later it was realized that there were no hopes. Harry GOSSE, Jr. was one of the best known and popular young men of Reno. At the time of his enlistment he was a member of the senior class at high school and planned to enter the university after serving in the army during the war. Mrs. GOSSE left Honolulu Tuesday for home. The body will follow on a government transport leaving there August 5. Plans are being made for a military funeral upon the arrival of the remains in Reno.
