C. MORGAN and Joe MAY, who had been sent out by the sheriff's office to search for the missing man. GOULD had evidently lost his sense of direction, or was demented, for his tracks were followed many miles, sometimes approaching within an eighth of a mile of the railroad where help would have been found. Then he would circle back to the hills and wander in an erratic course until death finally overtook him. The body was brought to Vegas Monday evening and an inquest held by Judge HARKINS on Tuesday. W. G. MORGAN, Joe MAY and Sheriff GAY all testified as to the search for GOULD after he was reported missing. The coroner's jury, consisting of J. P. NICHOLSON, foreman, D. PETTY, N. K. LEAVITT, W. K. KINNEAR, H. J. WOODARD and A. H. KRAMER brought in a verdict that GOULD died from exposure and exhaustion some time between the 1st and 10th of January.
