J. Goumond, at the family home early Monday morning. Mrs. Goumond had been ill for many months and everything that medical science, money and tender care could do had been done, but to no avail. With her husband she came to Nevada in 1906, living in Reno until 1928, when the family came to Las Vegas. Because of her retiring disposition and frail health many were denied her acquaintance, but those fortunate enough to have known her will remember her as a brave, gentle and kindly person. In a quiet, unostentatious way she gave comfort and cheer to many unfortunates. Her only son, Harold, died a few years ago. Beside her husband, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Kuhn of Las Vegas and Mrs. H. H. Katakee of Omaha, Neb.; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clifford DeVaney and her granddaughter, Margo Goumond. Rosary was said Tuesday evening at Garrison's mortuary and funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at St. Joan of Arc church with Rev. Father J. J. Lambe officiating. The pallbearers were A. B. Witcher, Ben Turner, John Irwin, Robert E. Lake, H. Stevenson, and Lloyd Spears. The body was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
