He was 62. Hamilton was born Dec. 28, 1926, in Patmus, Ark. He started his career as a police officer Dec. 23, 1950, with the Las Vegas Police Department. He worked his way through the ranks from patrol to a detective in the detention division and he retired in 1979 as a deputy chief. He was a member of Vegas Lodge No. 32 of Free & Accepted Masons and a member of York Rite where he served as High Priest in Keystone Chapter No. 6 of Royal Arch Masons. He also served as Illustrations Master of Zabud Council No. 10 Criptic Masons in 1988, and as an officer for Malta Commandery #3 Knights Templer. He was a member of Zelzah Shrine Temple. He is survived by [omitted]. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Home and services will be at 11 a.m. at Vegas Lodge No. 32. Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Aphasia Dyslexia Clinic in care of the Las Vegas Scottish Rite.
