Elizabeth "Beth" Ellen Diver Howe, PhEd., 41, of Henderson, passed away Feb. 7, 2011. She was born March 27, 1969, in Parma, Ohio, to James Thomas Diver and Barbara Carole Schmidt, and was a 19-year resident of Nevada. Beth was an executive director of instructional supports and program, student support services divisions, former principal of Greenspun Junior High and B. Mahlon Brown Junior High, former assistant principal of B. Mahlon Brown Junior High, former dean of students, at B. Mahlon Brown Junior High and former teacher at Jim Bridger Junior High. She was a member of Phi Gamma Sigma International Professional Society and Delta Kappa Gamma International, Eta Chapter, president of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Eta Chapter, corresponding secretary and state professional affairs chair, member of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Eta Chapter, president elect and past president of Clark County Association of School Administrators, member of National Association of School Administrators, Nevada Association of School Administrators and National Education Association. Beth was a Clark County School District "Rave Review" recipient, Clark County School District Low Incidence Disabilities Team, Recognition of Leadership and Support for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students, Southern Nevada Regional Professional Development Program, "RPDP Administrator Highlight" in Shop Talk Magazine, Sandra Babich Award - The Western Regional Middle Level Consortium, Clark County Teachers Education Association Minority Affairs Committee, "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty" Award and Nevada Department of Education Task Force. Beth is survived by her husband, Eric Howe; daughters, Jordan Howe and Morgan Howe; brothers, Scott Diver, Robert (Lynda) Diver and James (Celeste) Diver; niece, Krystle Diver; nephew, Robert Diver; nieces, Heather Diver, Nichole Diver, Hope Diver and Taylar Diver; nephew, James Diver; uncle, Donald (Lucille) Schmidt; and brother-in-law, Duane (Cindy) Howe. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will follow at 2 p.m., at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elizabeth Ellen Diver Howe Memorial Scholarship Fund.
