HOYT DIES AT JEFFERSON RANCH Edwin L. HOYT, age 47 years and a resident of Las Vegas for some two years, died Tuesday, September 4, at the B. R. Jefferson ranch east of the city. The deceased was at one time a man of affairs and considerable prominence but had been in ill health for a long time and a couple of years ago came here and made his home with Mr. JEFFERSON on the ranch. It is stated that he anticipated death a day or two previous to its occurrence by preparing instructions for the notification of relatives and the disposition of his remains, which were shipped Thursday to Peekskill, New York, for interment. The deceased was born in the Empire State and lived there for many years. Relatives surviving are a sister, Mrs. Sarah E. STRONG of Peekskill, and his wife, Helen B. HOYT, from whom he is said to have been separated for a number of years. She is said to be connected with the Mack Sennett Studios in Los Angeles.
