She was born in Bedminister, Bristol, England, Dec. 23, 1844. At the age of 22, she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and on her way to Utah lived in Pittsburg, Pa., later coming out west and living in Savier County, Utah. She was the first primary president in the ward there and was also first councilor in the stake primary presidency for two years. From Glenwood, Savier county, she and her husband, Thomas JOHNSON, moved to Overton, Nevada. Here she acted as president of the Relief Society from March, 1892, until February, 1897, also working as a teacher in the Sabbath school and doing much good among the sick as a nurse. She suffered a paralytic stroke twelve years ago and was a patient sufferer until relieved by death. At her death bed were her three children who have so faithfully cared for her during her long illness, Crayton JOHNSON, Thomas JOHNSON and her daughter, Mrs. M. D. COOPER, and Mrs. Thomas ANDERSON, an orphan whom she raised. She was the mother of seven children and was a faithful Latter Day Saint.
