Louis Koumis, 89, died Thursday.  He was a 14-year resident of Las Vegas.

A retired shoemaker, he was born Feb. 10, 1903, in Trikomo, Cyprus.

He is survived by his wife Mary and daughter Cecelia Richardson, both of Las 
Vegas; sons, James of Lancaster, Calif; and Ares of Bellevue, Neb.; sisters 
Bezuna Petrides and Kynacou Solomon, both of Nicosia, Cyprus; and nine 
grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home.  
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Greek Orthodox Church, with 
burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens.  The family requests donations to Nathan 
Adelson Hospice.
