 FRANK LEEMANS Frank Henry Leemans, 88, passed away peacefully Sept. 16, 2015, 
in his sleep, at his home in Pahrump. He was born Oct. 25, 1926, in Antwerp, 
Belgium. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, of 55 years, Elinor Leemans; 
three daughters, Jewel, Eve and Jacqueline; two sons, Michael and Frankie; 
brother, Joseph; and nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
Frank was just a young boy when his family immigrated to the United States. At 
age 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. After 
serving his country, he returned home to dedicate his life to public service, 
first working for the fire department and then moving on to the police 
department in Oakland, N.J. In 1960, Frank and Elinor left New Jersey and moved 
to Las Vegas, where he joined the Sheriff's Department. Frank retired as a 
sergeant from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department after 22 years of 
service. In 1991, Frank and Elly moved to Pahrump, where he continued to serve 
his community by volunteering for the Nye County Sheriff's Office, where his 
duties included transporting prisoners, serving summons and acting as bailiff 
in the Justice Court. Frank's passion for reading led him and Elly to join the 
Friends of the Library organization to help promote literacy. Leisure time was 
spent hosting intense family poker games, participating in fierce cribbage 
matches and daubing the days away at the local Bingo hall. Memorial services 
will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., 
Las Vegas, NV 89123
