Christian Science services were conducted and interment had in Forest Lawn Memorial park Monday. Macready was born in Brooklyn, N. Y., and came west at the age of twenty to Denver, Colo., where he started work as a newspaper man. He there became interested in mining and later operated mines in Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and California. Besides his widow, Mrs. Mattie Macready, he leaves three sons, George A. Macready, Los Angeles geologist, and Henry and Maj. John A. Macready. He lived at 300 North Plymouth Boulevard. Macready was a Mason, Thirty-second Degree, and a member of Al Malalkah Temple since 1902. "Jack" Macready, one of the sons who was best known in Clark county, enlisted in the air forces of the United States at the start of the World war. He became famous, it will be remembered, for his non-stop cross-continent flights, and later for his altitude records. Ben Macready, whom many of the older residents of Searchlight and Las Vegas remember well, was a scholarly, distinguished gentleman and an agreeable and congenial friend. Those of us who were here when he lived in Searchlight express their sincere sorrow at his passing.
