W. MATZDORF, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. MATZDORF of this city. The young man has been a resident of Las Vegas for several years and was in the employ of the Salt Lake road as a fireman. A few days ago he became afflicted with an infection of the inside of the lip. Upon consulting Dr. HEWETSON, the latter pronounced it erysipelas and sent the patient to Los Angeles. Owing to the infectious nature of the disease, the Sisters' hospital refused to receive the case and he was taken to the infectious ward of the county hospital, where he received every possible help. However, the disease followed the mucuous membrane to the throat and death ensued after an illness of only three or four days. The deceased was an estimable young man, having many friends who mourn his loss. The parents have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement.
