CO. CATCHES WORKMEN A very serious accident occurred in a small tunnel near Stine, Nevada, on the high line contract of the Utah Construction company, Monday afternoon, December 12. Several workmen were caught by the falling rocks, and G. F. MC CARTHY was instantly killed. Among others who were in the tunnel at the time were R. E. SMALLEY, W. J. WILSON, H. CAMPBELL and J. GUSTUS, all of whom were slightly injured. The coroner of Lincoln county at Pioche was notified of the death, but on account of the expense, did not visit the scene of the accident or investigate the circumstances of the case. The body of MC CARTHY was left where it was buried by the fallen rocks and earth for several days. MC CARTHY was about 35 years of age, and served in the United States army in the Phillipine Islands.
