SAMUEL MORRIS Sweet "Sammy" Raymond Morris died March 15, 2007. Born in 
Pulaski, Va., May 22, 1933, Sam came to Las Vegas in the 50s and spent the rest 
of his life here. A living legend in his profession, Sam easily became "Mr. 
Dunes", as he ran the valet parking department at the Dunes Hotel for 35 years. 
To know him his to love him and those who did know him are fortunate. He was 
the gold standard for managing co-workers and customer service. His survivors 
include, his pride and joy, sons, Kirk and Gary (their mother, Mary, his first 
love/ wife), and Daniel (his mother, LuAnn, his last love/wife); brothers in 
life, Ronald J. Smith, Nelson Torres and Joe Hagan; also his grandchildren and 
nieces and nephews were in his heart and loved; and one biological brother. He 
was preceded in death by his other two brothers in life, Jimmie "J.W." Wilson 
and Dennis "Denny Ray" Tuckness. Included in Sam's wishes are a special thanks 
and appreciation to the benevolence of friends and neighbors; the staff at St. 
Rose Dominican/Sienna Hospital, in particular, Chaplain Carolyn Lass; and all 
the caring folks at Spanish Trail, including staff and management. Spanish 
Trail was Sam's last place of employment and he loved all the people and his 
job there, and everything about the place. Especially since he was an avid 
golfer. A celebration of his life will take place from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, March 
29, at Spanish Trail Country Club. In lieu of flowers, Sam wished instead for 
all to pause and reflect upon being kind to one another - a quality Sam so 
richly exemplified.
