The deceased was the father of Merit POLLARD of this city who returned from a visit to his father only a few days before his death. The deceased had been ill for some time, the trouble starting with an attack of pneumonia, from which grew other complications. He left surviving him two sons, Merit and Porter S. POLLARD, and two daughters, Mrs. Maggie LUNDY of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Daisy FORREST, of Alta, Canada. He was born in Savannah, Mo., about ten miles north of St. Joseph, and has lived in his native state all his life. He visited his son Merit in California about ten years ago, that trip being the principal one of his life. He was a man of energy and intelligence, being very active until stricken by his last illness. Although he had reached more than the allotted three score years and ten, his death was a matter of deep regret to all who knew him.
