The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ LAS VEGAS AGE 10/16/1915 GASOLINE STOVE CAUSES DEATH PLATINA WOMEN [SIC] BURNED BY GASOLINE FLAMES, LIVES BUT FEW HOURS Mrs. Abigail Kendall RENO was working over a gasoline stove at her home in Platina Saturday afternoon about 4:30, when the gasoline took fire. There was no explosion and assistance was secured and men carried the stove out of doors and were busy quenching the flames when in some manner, Mrs. RENO was suddenly enveloped in flames. She was terribly burned from her waist to the top of her head. Dr. MARTIN responded to a message and made a quick run in his machine to Platina and dressed the burns of the sufferer. The injuries were too severe for human aid to avail, and the poor woman died early Sunday morning. The deceased leaves a mother and a husband to mourn her loss, and they have the sympathy of all in their terrible bereavement. LAS VEGAS AGE 10/16/1915 DIED RENO; Sunday, October 10, 1915, Mrs. Abigail Kendall RENO, a native = of Silver Plume, Colorado, and a resident of Platina, aged 30 years. = Death resulted from burns caused by a burning gasoline stove, the sad = accident occuring at 4:30 the afternoon of the ninth. The remains were = shipped to Denver, Colorado.
