Santa Cruz was born Jan 14. 1925 at Ruth, Nev. He became a member of the Nevada State Bar on Oct. 28, 1955. He received his education at the University of California and the University of Notre Dame College of Law. He unsuccessfully sought election to district court judgeship in 1966. In Sept. 1974, he was severely beaten and robbed by a group of teenagers near the Matt Kelly Elementary School in West Las Vegas while campaigning for former county commissioner James Ryan. He was a member of the American Bar Association and the Legal Aid Society. He was a Navy veteran of the submarine service. Survivors include (omitted).
