LV BUSINESSMAN DIES

Services will be held Saturday for Las Vegas businessman Francis P. Showers 
who died Tuesday in Miahawaka, Ind.  He was 77.

Showers was born Aug. 28, 1911, in Indiana and was raised in Michigan.  He 
became a professional musician in Chicago and performed in several bands 
before the age of 20.  After serving in the Navy in World War II he got 
married and lived in Michigan where he opened a furniture and interior design 
business.

He moved to Phoenix in the 1960s and to Las Vegas in 1980.  The Nevada move 
coincided with him becoming president and owner of Fiber Seal of Nevada, Inc., 
a fabric protection services company.  He was a member of the International 
and American Societies of Interior Design and the American Society of 
Appraisers.

He is survived by three sons, David of Denver, Stanley of Longview, Texas, and 
Kendal of Douglas, Mich.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Saturday at the Palm Valley View Chapel.  Services will be held there Saturday 
at 3 p.m.  Burial will be at the Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles, Mich.
