The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ LAS VEGAS AGE 12/9/1916 MILO SPRAGUE KILLED Monday morning at 8 o'clock, Milo SPRAGUE, brakeman on the railroad of the Arden Plaster Co., was instantly killed while attending to his duties at the quarry four miles from Arden. A. E. ANDERSON, the engineer, was pushing the car around the curve to spot it. When he stopped the engine the car moves forward a foot or two from the engine, the pin having been drawn. SPRAGUE jumped down to place a bar under the wheel to block it, but the car did not stop, moving back toward the engine. SPRAGUE was on the inside of the curve, and the corner of the car crushed his head against the corner of the engine, killing him instantly. Coroner HARKINS held an inquest on the remains, and the jury composed of Howard CONKLIN, foreman, W. I. ROBERTS, W. G. CHURCH, J. C. HORTON, Geo. HUNTSMAN and D. E. MC NAIR brought in a verdict in = accordance with the facts as above stated.
