MATILDA TURANO Matilda "Tillie" Turano, 92, passed away March 22, 2007, at the 
Cottages of Green Valley Assisted Living Facility. Tillie was born in Erie, 
Pa., to Pasquale and Luisa (Penna) Mando. She was a homemaker and was married 
to George Turano for 56 years. He passed away in 1991. She liked to sew, paint, 
and spend time working on various arts and crafts projects. She was a member of 
the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for 47 years. She also was involved in 
several church organizations in California. She moved to Henderson in 2002. She 
is survived by her two sisters, Alice Rajs and Lin Mando. She was preceded in 
death by her husband; four brothers, Nick, Tony, Armand and Frank; one sister, 
Therese Fischer; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 10 
a.m. Monday, March 26, at St. Viator Catholic Church Chapel, 2461 E. Flamingo 
Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Viator Catholic 
Church, Nathan Adelson Hospice, or charity to the donor's choice.
