Dr. John P. West, 65, of Las Vegas, passed away suddenly at home Thursday, July 
7, 2005. He was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Los Angeles, and was a longtime Nevada 
resident. John retired from the State of Nevada Department of Corrections where 
he was employed as the supervisory psychologist in Southern Nevada. He was a 
longtime Nevada community activist and member of various local organizations. 
John is survived by his three children, John West II, Dorothy West McCullough, 
both of Reno, and Jessica P. West of Las Vegas; as well as three grandchildren, 
Tyler West of Idaho, Donadya McCullough and Donnaciai McCullough, both of Reno. 
John is also survived by his companion, Becky Young of Las Vegas. A memorial 
service will be held at a later date.
