WILLIAMS, father of N. E. (Nick) WILLIAMS of this city, died in Long Beach, California, September 17. Four daughters and one other son were at the bedside at the time of his death. A third son, who had been summoned from the middle West, did not arrive until after his father had passed away. The elder WILLIAMS had resided in Long Beach more than 20 years. He was born in Kentucky in 1842 and married there, his wife passing away about 23 years ago, when he removed to the California city with all of his children, except the one son who remained in the middle West. His mind and body remained active until the end. "Nick" WILLIAMS, the son residing in Las Vegas, has been connected with the Salt Lake Route for many years and for several years held the position, of trainmaster at this point. Recently, taking advantage of his seniority, he again resumed his old position of conductor. The sympathy of many friends will be extended to him in the loss of his venerable father.
