E. Williams was called to Long Beach last Saturday evening by the very serious illness of his father, George A. Williams. The aged gentleman was alive when his son reached his bedside, but too ill to recognize anyone. He passed away Monday surrounded by his four daughters and two of his sons. His third son who lives in the middle west did not arrive until after his father had passed away. George A. Williams was born in Kentucky in 1842. He married there and four sons and four daughters came to bless his home. The wife and mother died about twenty-three years ago when the family home was broken up and the father and the children, with the exception of the one son came to Long Beach to reside. Although he had long since passed his three score years and ten he was wonderfully active and alert. Every day he took his accustomed long walk and visited with his friends and companions. God in his infinite wisdom spared him a long and painful illness and in the midst of apparently good health he was summoned to his long dome.
