He was 88 years old. He married Virginia Ann Rasmussen in Salt Lake City, Feb. 25, 1939. They met 70 years ago and have been married for 69 years. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Herman worked for Continental Baking (Wonderbread) in Salt Lake City until 1954, then moved to Las Vegas, where he owned and operated a Wonderbread franchise with his brothers, known as E & H Distributing. He and Virginia moved their six children to Las Vegas in 1955. Herman retired in 1980. He then served a mission with his wife for the LDS Church, in Hawaii, at the Temple Visitors Center, 1981-82. Herman and Virginia worked together for 23 years in the St. George and Las Vegas Temples. Herman also served as High Priest Group Leader, Sunday School superintendent and as a Sealer in the Las Vegas Temple until his health failed. He was also a veteran of World War II. Herman is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Kendall Zobrist and Duane Zobrist (Sharon), both of Crozet, Va., Anne Forston (Robert) of Murietta, Calif., Phil Zobrist (Janet), Gerry Zobrist (Jody) and Ginnie Snyder (Paul), all of Spanish Fork, Utah; brothers, Ray Zobrist (LaDonna) and Reed Zobrist (Janet); brother-in-law, LeGrande Bindrup (Barbara); and his sister-in-law, Janet Zobrist (Ernie). Herman also has 34 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Anna; his brother, Ernest Zobrist (Janet); sister, Ester Bindrup (LeGrande); and his daughter-in-law, Vicki Zobrist (Kendall). Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, with viewing one hour prior to service, all at the LDS Meadows 7th Ward Chapel, 3300 N. Buffalo Drive. Interment will be at Davis Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
