                             Genoa

A town of 250 population, the the county seat of Genoa [sic - actually Douglas] 
County, 13 miles south of Carson City, 8 miles northwest of Gardnerville, the
banking town, and 7 miles from Minden, the shipping station. Has one church,
good hotel and general store. Telephone connection with Carson City and
Gardnerville, also daily stage with Carson City, Holbrook and Markleville,
fare $2.50.
