Suicide of a Young Orphan

  Sunday night a young girl inmate of the State Orphan's Home, Emma N. Kelley, 
committed suicide in Carson by tying a sponge, saturated with chloroform, over 
her mouth and nose.  She was about fifteen years of age, and came from Elko 
county.  She had been an inmate of the home for several years.  A badly 
misspelled but pathetic letter was left containing some last requests, but no 
allusion was made to the causes that led to the terrible act.
