The services at the church were very impressive. Rev. G.W. Davis preached a sermon that was intently listened to by a large crowd, among whom were many who had not seen the inside of a church for years. The discourse was a credit to the preacher, who surmised that, though deceased sold whiskey and gambled, he had good qualities wich many professed Christians lack. It is refreshing to see a clergyman throw off orthodox restrictions and speak well of a man who dies outside the fold.
