L. I. Hogle, an old settler and prominent citizen of Elko county, died at his
ranch in Independence valley last Wednesday of spinal meningitis

Hon. L. I. Hogle, who was nominated by the Republicans of Nevada in 1871, and
who resigned from the ticket a short time after in favor of Uncle Geo Tufly,
died at Independence Valley, near Tuscarora, on Wednesday, October 24, 1883,
aged about 56 years
