SOMERS DIES IN LOS ANGELES Judge Peter J. Somers, who will be remembered by many of our citizens, passed away in Los Angeles last Friday. He had been in failing health for several years and had gone to the southern city to be with his children. The judge was a familiar figure in Goldfield during the stirring days at the camp and during his residence there was appointed to serve on the bench and later was elected to the same position, serving in all about seven years. It was in this capacity that he became known to many of our citizens as he frequently held court here. While in Goldfield, his wife passed away and later one son was killed in an automobile accident. His last years were spent in Tonopah and in his old home in Milwaukee. His funeral occurred Monday, February 18, at St. Paul's Church where Requiem Mass was sung. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. He leaves five children to mourn his passing. Gardens.
