A town situated on the Southern Pacific Railway and on the Humboldt
River in the northern part of Eureka County, 100 miles from the county 
seat of the same name and 33 miles from Battle Mountain, the nearest
banking point, and 325 miles northeast of Carson City. Wells, Fargo
& Co Exp, W U Tel Co. Tri-weekly stage to Cortez, fare $5.00. Daily
stage to Tenabo and Lander, fare $4.00.
