A Fatal Accident
Ira Emmons, a man 63 years old, was fatally wounded near Eureka last Sunday
morning and died in evening of the same day.  While out hunting with a
muzzle-loading gun, the pin which held the barrel on the stock becoming loose;
the barrel fell to the ground, and the cap striking on a rock, discharged the
gun.  The lead struck the left leg, shooting it off be the knee.  He died from
loss of blood.
