C. J. Lansing, a prominent lawyer and resident of Eureka, Nev., died there Thursday afternoon, after a very brief illness, from pleuro-pneumonia. He was a native of New York State, about fifty-six years old, and an early pioneer of California. He practiced law in Grass Valley, and was State Senator from Nevada county. Since then he had been a leading attorney in Virginia City, Austin, Hamilton and Eureka. Weekly Reno Gazette August 14, 1884 C. J. Lansing, a prominent lawyer and resident of this place, died here this afternoon, after a very brief illness, from pleuro-pneumonia.
