Death of Kit Lansing.
C. J. Lansing, a prominent lawyer and resident of Eureka, Nev., died there
Thursday afternoon, after a very brief illness, from pleuro-pneumonia.  He was a
native of New York State, about fifty-six years old, and an early pioneer of
California.  He practiced law in Grass Valley, and was State Senator from Nevada
county.  Since then he had been a leading attorney in Virginia City, Austin,
Hamilton and Eureka.

C. J. Lansing, a prominent lawyer and resident of this place, died here this
afternoon, after a very brief illness, from pleuro-pneumonia.  He was a native
of New York State, about 56 years old, and an early pioneer of California.  He
practiced law in Grass Valley, and was State Senator from Nevada county.  Since
then he has been a leading attorney in Virginia City, Austin, Hamilton and Eureka.
