Winnemucca woman Dies
Mrs. Laura Baker passed Away Yesterday at Local Hospital After Illness
Mrs. Laura Baker died yesterday morning at the Sister’s hospital in this city as
the result of blood poisoning, following the birth of a daughter a month ago.
The deceased was the wife of Conductor Baker of the Western Pacific company, who
resides in Winnemucca.  Mrs. Baker was brought to Reno a week ago and a valiant
effort was made to save her life.
She was a native of Winnemucca.  Three brothers survive: F.E. Leonard, a
merchant of Winnemucca; H. M. Leonard, assessor of Humboldt county, and M.A.
Leonard of Unionville.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the Eastern Star.  The funeral will be held at
Winnemucca tomorrow under the auspices of that order.
