Daily Nevada State Journal August 8, 1886
Drowned-A nine-year-old boy by the name of Gussy Krenkle was drowned in the
Humboldt river Thursday afternoon, while in bathing with four or five other
small boys.  The boys who went to the river with young Krenkle tell different
stories about the manner in which he was drowned, and said nothing about the
matter for some time after he was missed.
