Death of an Old Settler
Wednesday afternoon Theophile Lay died at his residence in Golconda.  The Silver
State says: Deceased, with his brother Louis, came to Winnemucca in the early
days of the place, and carried on the Winnemucca Hotel.  Subsequently he moved
to Golconda, where, in connection with his brothers, he conducted the business
of farming and hotel-keeping for years.  He had many friends, who regret his
sudden taking away.  He was unmarried, and his two brothers, Louis and Joseph,
reside at Golconda.
