A Sad Occurrence
Last Tuesday the four year-old child of Mrs. Emma Necker died on the emigrant
train near Battle Mountain, and was buried at Winnemucca.  Mrs. Necker came
direct from Germany, and with her three children, was going to San Francisco to
join her husband.  The child when crossing the ocean, caught a severe cold and
died of pneumonia, or some similar disease.  He was buried by the emigrants
above the round-house.
