Thomas Othet Funeral Held at Grass Valley

  Grass Valley, Feb. 8 - (Special to the Gazette) - The funeral of Thomas 

Othet, an Argonaut of 1852, and resident here since that year, was held here 

today.  Othet died on Monday at the age of nearly ninety-five years.  Othet 

opened a grocery and feed store here in 1852 and conducted the same until 

1913, or for a period of sixty-on years.  In the late '50s he joined the rush 

to the Comstock and at one time owned extensive mining properties there, but 

continued to make his home in Grass Valley.
