P. Harrington, City Recorder and Justice of the Peace in the early days of Austin in this State, died in San Francisco a few days ago. He was a schoolmate of the late Senator Sargent of California and for many years held a position in the Custom house at San Francisco. He was a pioneer of Nevada county, and a correspondent of the Nevada City Herald writes that he died in extreme poverty and that his funeral was attended by none of his old time political or personal friends whom he had assisted in bygone years, although there were hundreds of them in the city at the time of his death.
